Cupcake Walk – Party Games

Summary: This game is just like the classic cake walk played at carnivals, just a miniature version

Ages: From 3 to 10

Recommended Number of Players:
Between 6 and 15

Equipment:
Cupcakes
Cardstock or Construction Paper with numbers 1 through 15 (if you have less than 15 players, only have as many numbers as you need)
Slips of paper with as many numbers as you have on the floor
CD player and a music CD

Set Up:
Decorate the cupcakes
Tape the numbers to the floor in a circle
Have the CD player plugged in close to the circle of numbers

How to Play:
Play a song for a few seconds while the guests walk around the circle from number to number. When the music stops, draw a number that corresponds to the numbers on the floor. The girl standing on the number that was drawn out of a hat gets to choose what cupcake she wants.

The player that won the cupcake leaves the game and takes the number she was standing on with her. Then the music begins again as the remaining girls walk the circle.

Winner:
Non-competitive

Variation:
If you have many players, then do not play elimination style as listed above. Just have as many games as you cupcakes.

Have the girls decorate the cupcakes first. Then while playing, the winner of the round can pick the cupcake, but it can not be the one she decorated.
